...of the Bored. I miss the huge topics about nothing at all, like "Marcus M.". I miss Asspipedriller and his forum, and Judas Priest. I MISS IT ALL!! I haven't been coming here for as long as some of you (I lurked here a little while before the AYBABTU version), but I still remember the *sigh* good old days.

I think we need more people to come here and spice it up again. But anyway, reminisce here.

i remember the goold old days i miss them too. there used to be a lot of ppl here. but back then it was the ataris' board. thankfully its not anymore or else this board woulda turned to shit! But even when this was the ataris' board it was really well maintained and there wasnt too many shit disturbers. in a way this board is better cuz its a lot of nicer ppl. but the old board was good too because it had so many topics

Man, RJ, you are going back a long way with the 20 people thing... Afterall, I think I was registered member 32 on UBB 1. Then again, there were really only about 15 people that posted like mad. Nobody could keep up with StoopedChick though. She had 100 posts in a day.

Lessee.. the Bored really got started back, WAYYY BACK in Spring of 1999 if I remember correctly. The "Big White Beast (BWB)" was its incarnation. It sucked. I didnt know what I was doing (not that I do now..) and there were only a few Ataris fans and it was rather useless, the only major thing about that board was lots of girls liked to talk about screwing the band members so we had to... (everyone, shriek now) start creating some rules and regulations for the Bored.

But anyway.. shit, that was.. almost 3 years ago! Dizamn! I know RJ was there, Kim was there I believe and Christy (non-asian Christy I think) but I dont really remember everyone else, it was a white blur, but ah, how its grown (and recently, shrank!). The new Ataris Board (well the ONLY Ataris board now) is doing well, of course, but would I rather have this place be like that? Nah. I admit it has gotten REALLY slow here lately, I still check a few times a day to see whats going down.. so.. well, only you guys can make it a better place

Yes sir. You are correct. I didn't post until UBB version 1.0. I remember the really old topic when Short Music For Short People came out and there was that whole debate over the Nerf Herder song. (Whether they said "tube" or "two".. I think.)

Good times those were.

Ahh...Lenore...I still remember her...she was a freaking board dynamo...if anyone could liven up the board it was her...(that fucking sounded like it was tyeped by an old man)...I know there were a few people on UBB1 before me...I know Christy and Christy (Cornelia) were on before me...and I think Karin was right up there too...I think you (Norm) and Ewan came just shortly thereafter...and I know William factors in there somwhere...I'm just not sure where...and of course I can't forget Rejected and Starry Eyed...they were part of the OG crew too...I really can't belive it's been 3 years...nuts!!!...who would've thought that Paul's little creation would have had such longevity...neato.

who knows..
a lot of people have come and gone..
new ones are always arriving...in two years, these will be the good old days...and the good old days now, will be long forgotten..

i love this bored, without it i'd be lost on the net and lacking a home. when ever paul took it down for renovations or whatever it was he was doing (whoring it to the alkaeda network, cos we know he loves them) i felt like something was missing everytime i connected to the net and sat around waiting for something monumental to happen.

now i come here and even though it's no longer the cage-full-of-hampsters-on-heat-post-fest it once was it's still reassuring to have something here for so long. a place i can always come back to when i'm feeling lost. so mondo congratulations to paul and many thanks.

now with that said, we still need a) more people b) more retards and c) more posts. now if we get a, b and c are givens. cos despite what william says most of the people here are exceptionally nice people and not overly retarded, albiet a little too quite.

now lets face it, retards and/or whacky people bring life to a place, they will make intresting posts and they will generate discussion, even if it is just everyone else saying how stupid they are. but there will be more posts and with more posts more chance that someone will eventually say something entertaining and/or intelligent.

so i guess the point i'm trying to make is that we, well someone, needs to advertise the bored. get out there and bring new people with new posts and large volumes of.

sure its good if ppl bring their friends to the board but we cant be having major teenyboppers here. we need ppl who are somewhat sane and arent out to cause shit

Two things, well okay maybe more than two, but two sounded like a good number when I started typing... nevermind.

Anyway, the farthest back I really do remember was a topic about Me (Paul) and a bathtub and some Star Wars: Episode I figurines.. and thats all I have to say about that! So that was at least May of '99.. baby how you've aged!

Sigh. But yeah, I dont know if the Bored needs NEW people, or even MORE people, or even MORE posts, its quaint right now, everyone (pretty much) knows everyone and we've all (more or less) come to respect each other. I think thats nice. I am totally down for people telling their friends, or people they meet online to come on by, cause, well hell fresh meat is always welcome! But I dont think 'advertising' would really help us at all in the long run, since, well, as you can see, people tend to drift off elsewhere *cough official ataris board cough*. But who knows?

I am glad you all still visit my piece of crap on the internet, and really who would have thought it'd continue this long after me and the Ataris split.. its rather amazing in and of itself that this THING has managed to survive on its own (proverbial) two feet all-the while. Bravo to ya'll for making that happen.

Tear. Tear. So sad.. but alas..

Take care As long as it is in my power.. the Bored will still be around for little Caitlyn when she gets online! Adios.

Same here, I don't remember exactly but it was when "looking forward to failure" came out. Like many, my first post was somthing in the kinfd of "hey, when d'you tour my town/country".

And I'm not sure it was better. it was more hectic and really linked to the ataris. But we get used to everything yannow. I remember when somebody replied to my first post I was all hyper and stuff and I was like "great, this is fucking interactive". Now, when someone doesn't reply, I'm like "what a fucker" (kidding). Everything's like this : we don't prefer old times, we just prefer times of discovery and renewal. Maybe one day, even the bored will become boring, I dunno.

Everyone needs to be surprised, everyone needs to be amazed and excited. It's up to you, up to me, up to us all.

And now, something completely different... the larch !

Haha, yeah. I remember the billion Ataris posts. I think like any newbie my first post was, "What's your fav Ataris song??"

And then like any other newbie I got flamed for posting such a dumb question. But hell, I still get flamed so I guess not all that much has changed

the sick game is over with. No one ended up winning we just sort of ended it. It is now a sanctuary for some of us on the net.

and nothing has been happening with i[heart]rock. Every once in awhile i go back to see if anything has changed, but no such luck. Amanda is around..i talked to her for a couple minutes the other day..
