Well, baby Olivia arrived exactly one month early after I developed severe pre-eclampsia (i.e. dangerously high blood pressure that occurs for unknown reasons in pregnancy). I went in for a routine check-up and the dr. sent us directly to the hospital to be induced. I spent 4 days hooked up to mad drugs that made me really ill with doctors and nurses coming in every couple of hours poking and prodding parts of me that I never want touched again. Anyway at 12:25 a.m. on March 9th Olivia Jane was born. She is in good health but a premie at 5 pounds 2 ounces. She is two weeks old today! Besides the awful delivery, etc. motherhood is wonderful.

Well I am glad in the end it's all working out well.. life is crazy in the way it decides things will plan out, thats for sure.

Congratulations on pulling it all off though!! Go Jody! (And baby Olivia!)

congrats Jody and many wishes of happiness to you and your little shrimp (I don't know if this french expression can be translated).
5 pounds and 2 ounce is like being in advance with the diet many americans have at some point in their lives.

I guess the drugs prolly explain why you lost your brain and haven't posted any picture yet.
Now you know what to do.

I am so happy to hear you and the baby are doing well.
That is just great to hear.
I am so sincerely happy for you. That is so wonderful. As for the premature birth, is there anything to worry about? I certainly hope not...

sorry guys... you should know by now that i am not technically inclined. besides, i don't know, but there is something about posting pics of a two week old on the internet that doesn't sit well with me. i guess i am already a protective mother.

congratulations Jody.
It must feel amazing to hold Olivia (especially since she came as an early surprise!). Hopefully you are adapting well, and good luck with raising her.
Oh and dont' worry about the pictures...just post whenever you feel comfortable. Needless to say, I am sure we would all like to see her one day!!

YAY!...welcome to the bored Olivia Jane

Happy to hear that all is well with mommy and baby now...the delivery and "getting there" is always the hardest part, but it's made so worth it by their little angelic faces...the discomfort of pregnancy and labor(OK...perhaps excruciating pain in most cases) is soon forgotten and you're rewarded with something miraculous beyond desciption...you're going to have so much fun with her!

yay for Jody!

now, you should learn how to knit, because knitting is punk rock. and plus, baby clothes are so much smaller, and therefore, take a lot less time to finish!

(of course, so do midget clothes, but I don't know if you have any midget acquaintances around to knit for, so I just went for the baby thing instead)
