Okay. There are a lot of nerdy boys on this board...I need help decided on a Christmas gift for the hubby. So far it is between...

Tenacious D DVD
A GameBoy (How much are these dealies?)
A subscription to National Geographic

Which of those 3 would you want?
Any other ideas would be appreciated. Keep in mind that it will be a somewhat small gift this year since we have a lot of baby junk to buy. He is generally pretty easy to buy for because he is into computers, art, music, and has a million hobbies, but I always have a hard time deciding what is a good gift.

Of those three, I'd definitely want the Gameboy!...Gameboy's run about $100 without the game...if you go this route make sure to get the Gameboy Advance SP which has a smaller profile and back lighting...very important...the regular (non SP) Gameboy Advance can be had for $60 (again...no no game)but palying on them can be an eye strain due to the lack of backlighting...games will typicalty run you $20-$30 depending on the game...I recommend Final Fantasy Tactics Advance if he's big into RPG or Strategy Games...

I he doesn't alreay have it, you could get him some cool software like Acid so that he can make music (it runs about $70)...I love playing with Acid and just making loops and beats...what can I say, I'm a dork...

If he's into PC gaming at all and he's into Star Wars at all (but really, what guys our age aren't ) then you might consider getting him the game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic...then again if you ever want him to do anything around the house ever again you might want to skip that suggestion...

Hope I helped...

You could always come to Norm's House of Mac Products and get him an iPod. 20 Gig models start at $200. The 40 Gig models go for $250. (Plus shipping)

Hehe. I am ordering a bunch on Monday or Tuesday, so i figured I'd toss the idea into the ring. Any other takers?

Actually, I forgot that he mentioned that he wants an iPod but I try to forget about a lot of things that he mentions wanting. I probably will go with the GameBoy thing, so thanks for the info RJ. See, I am a bit unibomberish when it comes to electronics and gadgets. I have a hard time justifying the practical use of these things...especially since we already have an XBox, Play Station 2 and about 4 computers in different parts and forms. Eck! Who needs all of this junk? I guess he is just lucky that I figure he needs a little something for himself before fatherhood takes over. I'm gonna jump on the holiday bandwagon :-)

I have a second generation 20 gig also, and at this point it is 15 months old? No problems yet. If you do have a problem, e-mail me. Seriously. The guy that I am able to get the mega deals though also has an Apple Certified Tech Staff at his disposal.

Sadly, an iPod is not in my near future...not for another six months at best ...so many toys, so little money...

We've decided that since Caitlyn will be turning two on her birthday ( I have a two year old!!!) that we'd re-furnish her room with a "big girl bed" and a table and chairs for one of her stature...

I told my wife that the bed/table/chair combo couldn't possibly store thousands of MP3's or fit in my pocket for portability, but she want to buy them anyway ...

chicks.

you should get caitlyn an ipod and just borrow it until she's old enough to truly appreciate its beauty.
