So, I got an email today that my 10 year class reunion will be this June. Eck! High School comes back to haunt me. Not sure if I should go. On a normal day, I would say, "hell no", but since a good friend of mine from high school just passed away, I kind of feel like seeing some old familiar faces. Problem is, what if I get there and none of the faces that I want to see are there? And, the other question is, do I drag my husband with me? Should I really put him through the torture of this bizarre experience or should I just go with a friend from high school that I'm still in contact with? Should I go at all? I'm scared.

Go. And find everyone you hated and make sure they're doing horrible at life. Then kick someone's ass to show who's boss.

But really...go...if you don't...and you regret it you'll have to wait until the [number]th one, which is probably far away.

P.S. Bring your husband. And tell everyone he went there. That'll make them wonder. And then kick some more ass.

for some reason, i can't wait for this day....like 6 years from now? or so. anyway, i just think it'll be funny to run into everyone together again. so many people i've seen since HS have gotten fat and dumb. so yea, go and have a good time, if only to laugh at the times and people. and rent a really nice car, like a mercedes sl500 or something and tell them your other one is in the shop.

Am I the only one not into the whole reunion scene?...mine was back in 2000 (yeah I graduated in '90...so what...I'm old )...perhaps it's the fact that for me, it was so not worth going...so I didn't...

Scenario:

Firstly I would've had to shell out $120 for myself and my wife to go, frankly I've got better ideas for my $120...secondly, it was held at an "elite" country club/golf course about a half an hour away from the actual town where we all went to school (we were in Salinas the reunion was held in Carmel), fucking pretentious if you ask me...thirdly, anyone who I wanted to see from high school I have kept in touch with since then so going would have put me in a social setting with a bunch of people who I really didn't ever want to see again...so I no showed and probably used the money I would have used for the tickets on CD's ...

The weird thing about were I grew up/went to school is that most of the population of the school was so interested in outdoing everyone else...there was this whole "keeping up with the Jones'" attitude...sickening really...the last thing I wanted to do was to be subjected to that again...

But I suppose my decision was based on factors indemic to my situation...my suggestion Jody would be for you to go if you think you'll have a good time...that's what it'll all boil down to...and take your husband...that way if things start to suck you can use him as an out ...good luck!

See, that is where I have the problem. I don't think I really want to go, but what if I do regret it--although I never went to prom and I sure as hell don't regret that. It's gonna be a boat ride and it only costs $20, but that means there would be no way out if it is terrible. But, I graduated with an insane amount of people--I think it was 1000 in my class--and at the time I didn't want to keep in touch with many of them and most of them fled Minnesota as soon as the last bell rang! So, this would be a chance to reconnect with some people that I should have made the effort with a long time ago. See, the whole keeping up with the Jones thing is kind of why I don't want to bring my husband. Because I would truly be going to see some people and see how they are, catch up, etc. Bringing Scott would give people the opportunity to be like, "Oh, check out Jody's husband...blah, blah." Anyway, thanks for the advice. I'm still torn...

Yes, William, he's a porn star. No, I didn't mean it like check out how HOT Jody's husband is. I just meant that they would be checking him out--i.e. making snap judgements about him based on looks. Which, good looking or bad looking, that has nothing to do with what kind of person he is. Just like what he does or how much money he makes...Oh, you get my point. I don't want the point of my going to be to show who I married, etc. Blah.

Yeah, what you're really worried about are the comments like...
"Oh my god! Can you believe Jody married a guy so young?"
"Can females be pedophiles?"

So...you don't want him to be there for the husband cock measuring contest?

Maybe you shouldn't introduce him as your husband...but...as...your...paid escort. That'll make you look BOSS!

You should definitely stay for that one, I hear you can win a big screen TV!

And as for the whole youg guy thing, as long as he's not currently attending your alma-mater then it's all good...in fact even if he is now attending your alma-mater, just make sure he's not wearing his Class of '04 letterman jacket and you'll be fine ...

She was 22 and I didn't plan on marrying her...

And it was all legal. I mean it wouldn't have been when I was 22, but NOW it is...

Housewife? She needs a ring for that, doesn't she? I her current state, she is just an illegal immigrant who cleans David's house and shares his bed...

Indeed I'm the r(a)ider of the lost Lark. But mine can actually reach 115 mpH.

And if Kim was a housewife the apartment would be cleaner, by far. As a matter of fact, it's her appartment. I just pay the awful rent, go buy groceries, cook and work for her.
