I'm eating at home this year. It really doesn't feel like thanksgiving. More like just 1 of the 2 days out of the year that my mom actually cooks.

Tommorow is now officially the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Working in retail, I'm sure not looking forward to it.

Happy Thanksgiving.

my uncle owns a bakery here, and brought all these different desserts.
black out cake, pies, chocolate cheese cake...
goodness.

my mom made these candied yams, but cooked them a little too long. it was like eating potato candy. which im sure they have in japan..

follow my mom's logic: she didn't want to cook, so we went out. yet she made a turkey and some other shit too so that we'd have leftovers.

all i had was turkey, corn on the cob, rolls, rice & gravy, and this modified apple pie that my mom made. i don't like turkey much either.

and all i did all day was eat, and then go out with this girl to a movie and then we drove around for like 2 hours with nothing to do since everywhere was closed. lots of fun.

Being the only vegan in a family of meat-eaters, my Thanksgiving dinner consisted of the following:

For appetizers:

- little mushrooms in oil and vinegar
- artichoke hearts
- garlic bread with red peppers on top

For the main course:

- baked ziti with tofu mozzarella cheese
- stuffed artichoke with Italian breadcrumb (no cheese)
- stuffed mushrooms
- sweet potatoes

Dessert:

- assorted fruits (mostly bananas seedless green grapes)
- vegan pumpkin pie
- the apple-insides of a non-vegan apple pie (I didn't touch the crust)

See, even vegans can have a yummy Thanksgiving meal.
