Sometimes this is a touchy subject. I've seen many a heated argument on the merits of "hoarding" a vast number of figures. I myself am an avid army builder, and I often use all of the troops in my dio pictures so I'm not guilty of having hundreds of figures sitting in a tupperware tub doing nothing.

My issue isn't the hoarding aspect so much as the seeming fruitlessness of it.

Squad level i get. 400 Crimson Guards standing at attention i don't.

Eh, i suppose army builders feel the same about our completely awesome and in no way useless 1:18 vehicles.

I can see how having 100 troops would seem cool but its usually so impractical.

like cold said he uses them all once and a while so there is a good reason.

I only collect 3 to 5 if that for display or small dios.

I really don't understand the problem of buying as many Cobra figs as you can to army build. Isn't that to point to have an army? Too bad if someone else in town does not get the figures that you want. They could always go to the next town. I know that I have had to do that many times. Being a fan of G.I. Joe, I like to collect up a little army to oppose the Joes. I do not want 50 plus Joes standing around waiting for some action. Personally, I would like to have 10 of each army builder. In reality, I only have 5 of each and try to keep it uniformed to that.

Here is part of my Cobra army so far:

BTW, is it fair that Hasbro gives us non-stop repaints?

Nice Starfighter! I see some red-faced BATS in there! I agree whole-heartedly, I want my Joes to be overwhelmed with opposition. That's the strength of Cobra, their numbers (and Destro's technology).
These were from almost a year ago.

Nice Cobra Army. I love it. I bet that setting them up was a pain though?

Took awhile and sometimes guns fall, but it was super easy compared to doing a dio outside (where I refrain from using any stands).

I originally was purchasing twenty of each army builder, but i stopped at the vipers. The price of joes started rising and the effort was just impractical. Setting them up can take a whole day for thirty minutes of photos or my son playing with them. I'm down to ten of each with the exception of the blue shirts. Most of them are special forces anyway so no need to have so many. The Snow Serpents, Eels, and Para-vipers are all variations of the same guys anyway.

i buy whatever fits my shelves. Like some figures can fit 8 deep and then I make 2 rows. Some can only get 6 deep and I'll get maybe 1 row.

Some I want 3 rows.

Eels; I will buy each and everyone I find and/or trade.
