I'm new here and was just wondering what everybody's thoughts were.

I love it. I have MP3's to send out to anybody that is interested or say's they hate it.

I really enjoy Blackalicious, the new Gift of Gab(of Blackalicious) LP, Atmosphere, Scarface(and Geto Boys in general), Dead Prez (Kill Whitey!), Wu Tang(and most solo stuff), Biz Markie, and Ice Cube. I like some more artists, but I can't stand the new MTV rap stuff (Chingy, G Unit etc.).

I'm not a huge hip-hop fan, but I do like it.

And how could I forget the Wu-Tang Clan in my list?!?! 36 Chambers might be my favorite CD of all time.

man, so much good hiphop out there, guys like Skillz dont get nearly enough recognition even though he is one of the best lyrical rappers out right now, see the 2002/2003 Rap-Up for proof.
regarding rjd2, anything on Def Jux records will be at worst decent...Mr. Lif, Atmosphere, El-P, Aesop Rock...all rule. man i love hiphop

I got this Freestyle from Skillz rapping over the "In da club" beat and it's fucking ridiculous how good it is.

there are a couple over the in da club beat, the best being the one where he raps about how old school he is and talks about how he was rap when "Scarface saw Scarface for the first time in houston"...get freestyle. Check out supafriendz, skills with beats from Danger Mouse and a few other VA artists, they do a 15 min. freestyle for a VA radio station, redonkulous...its off the Best of Mad Skillz album and called Freestyle 1, i host it on soulseek along with about 100 skillz tracks and about 5000 hiphop tracks...all full albums if you are interested

That "how sick am I" is the freestyle I was talking about. If there is anybody out there that hates hip-hop, or thinks rappers are talentless, I urge you to listen to this track. I'll have to look for that other stuff. I don't use soulseek, nor am I really sure what it's all about. I got into Skills when he toured with The Roots, he did Ghostwriter with all the names in it :-)

indeed that is the one....skillz is crazy. Ive never witnessed the Ghostwriter song live, but i know all the names in the first verse from a video i have, his flow and genious lyrics are incredible.
