It's (as I write, very nearly) December. What goes down? What did you love/loathe this year? Plans for Christmas? I'm still at the Garage, now 5 years on. I'm acting Manager at the moment, and I want the job permanently. Luckily the area is proper tits-up so I should be in luck. More money is always nice. I'm planning to move out in the New Year. (Yes, 26 and still at home! It was quite sobering watching Arrested Development and drawing comparisons between myself and Buster. Minus the hook-hand of course. And the weird Mother-love... Operation Hot-Mother - Ha!) 2007 was great for these reasons - Andrew Bird, Wilco, The Besnard Lakes, Spoon, of Montreal, Richmond Fontaine, the unlikely return of Armchair Martian, the equally unlikely return (kinda) of Elliott Smith, the unlikely return of Futurama, discovering Arrested Development too late, Pushing Daisies - anyone else watching this? I think it's really good, so inevitably it's future is in the balance, the impossibly good ATP Festival (even though I missed Grizzly Bear, dead to the world in my Chalet), the sublime End Of The Road Festival (which signified a return to many enjoyable bad habits) and going to too many gigs, because that's actually impossible. I've not got plans for Xmas, other than ensuring I don't have to work, (the curse of convenience!) And I'll probably buy myself an XBox 360 next week, because I'm worth it. Yourselves? I decided I needed a classier job than janitor, so I applied for a job at the computer lab at a library. I got an interview which went well, but then a letter saying I did not get the job. I then got a phone call a week later telling me they wanted me for the job. It turns out the lady who interviewed me died. The person they hired soon quit, so now I have a new job. Kind of weird how that works.School is super stressful, being that it's the week before finals. I might fail my gender class because my professor does not like opinions despite the class being based on them, and I guess I'm a bad feminist. This really was a great year for music, even though I didn't get a chance to go to many shows(besides Trash Talk, Trap Them, and Modern Life is War[bleh] when they came through town). Too many really good albums came out to list, but I must suggest the new Defiance, Ohio album to people. Christmas to me is just a day off to relax. My car is running funny, so the only gift I asked for is, "Make my car not die so that I don't have to worry about it." That's about it!

These fall has been crazy. I've been alternating between overworked and exhausted. So far, I haven't cracked yet. If I can make it another week, I'll have my two weeks of break to fully recuperate before taking on insaneworkload v. 1.1, which should, thankfully be slightly less hectic since one of my jobs will be on hold for six weeks (students will be off doing internships and therefore won't have English class). Whee.Other than that, all is well. No exciting holiday plans, at least none that I am aware of. In terms of music, I don't think I'm listening to anything new since the last time I posted. Whee. People have suggested Pushing Daisies to fill the hole Gilmore Girls has left in my TV-viewing soul. I think the idea is that they have a very quick dialogue, like GG. Anyway, will report back once I've started watching it.
